The holiday festivities kick off on December 1 with a Tree Lighting Ceremony (11 am-12:30 pm), featuring a Santa visit and treats. On December 18 (between 11 am-3 pm), Pretend City honors Las Posadas, a Mexican/Latin American holiday celebrated during the days before Christmas. The museum’s Christmas party on December 22 offers photos with Santa, (10 am-12 pm), a storytime and activities (11 am & 2:30 pm) and a pop-up book sale (10 am-4 pm).
