Expect to encounter some unique sand creatures at Corona del Mar State Beach on October 1 because this year’s Sandcastle Contest theme is “It’s A Zoo Out There!” Come out between 10 am-4:30 pm to be a builder or marvel at the castles. Sign up can be done at https://www.newportbeach.com/events/61st-annual-sandcastle-contest/. All participants receive a t-shirt while winners get a cash prize. The day also offers music, food, and kids activities.
